Battle Circuit (Captain Silver): One of the first pages in the book that makes an entry for an entire series than a single character.
I don’t know a whole lot about Battle Circuit, other than I never played it and the characters look interesting. Captain Silver has what looks like speakers going around his belt, and outside really strange proportions, also can twist and bend in ways that are inhuman.
Batsu - Rival Schools: When I was younger, I always thought of Batsu as being like Ryu, but now…? He’s still a main character for sure, but I think he’s more badboy than most main characters in Capcom’s roster are.
Bass - Megaman: I don’t have many memories of Bass - I think it’s because I wasn’t keeping up with Megaman by the time he was introduced. Love those head fins though!
Barry Burton - Resident Evil: I’ve never had much feelings for him one way or another. However all his choice lines in the first RE - “Master of Unlocking,” “Jill Sandwich” and so on are still real funny.
Balrog - Street Fighter series: I remember him being a pain to fight against in SF2 and when he was playable in CE, wanting to learn him and being awful at it. I liked that his moves were “easy” like Guile’s, Chun-Li’s, Blanka’s etc. Charging moves were my friend til I learned quarter-cricle-forward :p
Balrog in SF4 I was legitimately terrified of. Even when I was knee-deep in the game, learning Cammy, he was my worst matchup. To this day I love watching a good Balrog player, because I just can’t wrap my head around his play style.
Sorry for falling so behind on this - a few projects came up that needed attention and I was bad about letting these slip by, build up, and feel like a much larger issue that needed “catching up” on.
Instead I need to approach it like this - get back on the wagon, even if there’s only time to one a day and I’m “behind” since, heck, doing one a day isn’t that hard but letting it snowball makes it feel harder to keep up on…
Baby Head - Bionic Commando: I only know of him from Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2, where he’s an attack for Captain Commando. I know there’s a beat-em-up with all those characters in it, but I’ve never played it…
B.B. Hood - Darkstalkers: While I love me some Darkstalkers, I could never really learn how to use B.B. Hood well. But her in Cannon Spike? Now I can do that!
Because he asked and because, let’s face it, it was lousy, here’s another shot at Ayame.
got far too behind on these!
Asura & Augus - Asura’s Wrath: Never played it, but did watch my friend play the crazy, over-the-top intro. However the more I watched, the more it felt like all I wanted to do was watch the cutscenes, not see or play the game. That bummed me out.
Axl - Megaman X7: To be honest, I didn’t keep up with the MMX much at all. I remember 1 & 2 the most, and brief memories of 3 and 4. I never got much farther than that though. However, I did get the MMX collection, so I can at least catch up (even if 7 isn’t on it). I remember though that 7 was divisive for a lot of fans. I don’t think it was from Axl being the hero, but the change to 3D gameplay, design decisions, etc.
Ayame - Power Stone: I adore Power Stone. It’s one of those games that sold me on the Dreamcast and I’m terribly unhappy with how horrible this sketch went.
And that’s it for the A’s in this book!
(I owe you guys one more, but this was from yesterday’s update)
Astaroth - Ghosts & Goblins: I remember this guy freaked me out as a kid. I mean, LOOK AT IT. It’s got a mouth in its gut! Ew…
Today though? Not as scary - and I’d be hard pressed to imagine it would even freak out today’s youth…
